Responsibilities:
The Customer Service Representative is a client-focused, telephone-based position tasked with helping San Diego County residents, service providers, and agencies with questions or needs relating to the County ACCESS General Information line as well as Family Resource Center programs and services, including but not limited to CALFresh, Medi-Cal, and CalWorks. The duties of this role include outlining eligibility requirements, accepting application requests, scheduling appointments to acquire or maintain benefits, and updating case data.
- Telephone client screening for community programs to inform, direct, and link clients with required resources.
- Provide high-quality, confidential linkages to resources and services by using active listening in all conversations.
- Make use of strong customer service techniques to guarantee the maximum degree of client pleasure.
- Keep the call under control to make sure the handling time is kept within the allotted time.
- Using an online database system and Microsoft Office programs, maintain accurate records of services requested and supplied.
Requirements:
- Diploma from high school.
- One or more years of experience in customer service.
- Prior experience in the social sciences, human development, social work, psychology, sociology, or criminology is recommended but not necessary.
- Strong written and vocal communication abilities.
- A high level of competency in web-based applications, real-time chat applications, and skills tests may be necessary.
- Spanish bilingualism is desired but not necessary.
