Position Description:

District Store Director, Store Manager, Assistant Managers of Store Operations, Perishables, and Health Wellness Home are accountable to you.

Primary responsibilities and duties

  • demonstrates compassion, concern, and patience in all customer interactions and treats customers as the most important persons in the store to deliver timely, effective, and friendly customer service.
  • whether the interaction occurs in the employee’s assigned department or elsewhere in the store, smiles and extends a polite greeting to all customers.
  • tries to remember clients’ names and wherever feasible uses their names to address them.
  • Helps customers in any manner they can to improve their shopping experience, such as by guiding them to the items they’re looking for, securing items that are out of their reach, loading or unloading large items, noting and relaying client requests or ideas, and completing other activities.
  • swiftly answers the phone and offers callers courteous, accommodating service.
  • Ensures client satisfaction and a pleasant workplace through cooperating with coworkers.
  • weighs postal parcels, handles certified, expedited, UPS, registered, and insured mail, and runs mail through meters.

  • sells money orders and cashes social security, salary, personal, and ADC checks.

  • shatters and places money in the utility drawers.
  • switches off the postal register after breaking down and turning on the postal department.

  • Follows store norms and business policies, and arrives at work on time and on schedule.

Additional Tasks and Responsibilities

  • On/off signs for the lottery machines.
  • if appropriate, helps consumers with their dry cleaning.
  • When necessary, aid consumers at the registers.
  • sells lottery tickets and redeems them.

  • Helps as required in other sections of the store.

  • You must be able to read instructions, handle a range of variables with lax standards, and solve real-world problems.
  • Must be able to perform fractional, decimal, and percentage arithmetic computations.
  • Must be able to post, file, and mail documents; copy information from one record to another; conduct interviews to get essential information; and mentor others and give them basic guidance.
