A shift of 20 to 40 hours per week will be set for Cargo Customer Service Agents. Bending, crouching, twisting, standing, and walking are all required during work tasks. Work duties that involve loading and unloading as well as delivering mail and goods to aircraft are repetitive.

In Los Angeles, California, cargo agents start out earning $23.81 per hour. All through the first 10.5 years, there are ongoing wage increases.

Responsibilities:

  • Use ground support tools like tugs, forklifts, and tow tractors safely.
  • Flexible work schedules, including working on weekends and holidays, may apply.
  • Subject to performing tasks in bad weather.
  • While working under time restrictions, adopt safety-conscious attitudes in all operational processes and procedures.
  • Lift, load, unload, and move mail and freight safely to and from aircraft in addition to being in charge of timely deliveries.
  • Safeguard cargo and mail from loss, weather, and damage.
  • Driving and operating ground vehicles, including tugs, forklifts, and tow tractors, safely in congested environments.
  • Lift and load items onto carts repeatedly, making sure that every shipment reaches its destination.
  • Make sure that mail and freight are sent accurately to their destination by operating scanners and computers.
  • In all operating processes and procedures, adopts safety-conscious behaviors.}

Requirements:

  • GED, High School Equivalency, or a high school diploma.
  • Age requirement of 18 years or older.
  • A valid driver’s license is required.
  • Must be capable of safely operating a tow tractor, a bag tug, and a forklift.
  • English proficiency is a must.
  • Should be able to interpret complex job instructions and possess great verbal and vocal communication skills.
  • Ought to convey a professional image.
  • Have rudimentary computing abilities.
  • Must complete the necessary training programs successfully.
  • It may be necessary to provide incremental training for new duties such handling specialized tools, processes, and goods.
  • Ability to regularly lift bags or objects weighing 50 pounds or more
  • The capacity to occasionally lift objects or bags weighing 50 to 70 pounds.
  • Be prepared to work a set and/or rotating schedule that includes weekends, holidays, evenings, and afternoons in all weather conditions.
  • Capable of working both inside and outside the warehouse in a variety of temperatures.
  • Pass a pre-employment drug test after receiving an offer.
  • A physical test success (PAT).
  • Must be able to get and keep a badge bearing a customs seal from the airport.
  • Pass a thorough post-offer pre-employment background check, which includes a criminal history record check and fingerprinting, as required by federal law.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience with warehouse operations and cargo freight is preferred.
