Position Description:
As a Chip Performance Engineer responsible for the verification of a specific area of performance features in a chip design, you will have the following responsibilities:
- Work closely with architects and RTL designers on verifying design performance features and correlating with performance models (both pre-silicon and post-silicon) • Work closely with software and application developers on identifying performance bottlenecks and tuning the software • Develop test plans and test infrastructure/tools for performance tuning, correlation, and verification
- Benchmark, correlate, and compare CPU performance across silicon/OS/compiler versions. • Deliver CPU performance results to multi-functional teams.
Education and Work Experience
- A bachelor’s degree is required, as well as three years of relevant industrial experience.

- The ideal candidate will have experience with performance modeling, processor verification, or RTL design.
- Expertise in digital logic design, CPU architecture, and microarchitecture
- Expertise writing/debugging assembly tests for performance correlation and verification and designing performance test plans
- Excellent programming skills in assembly, C/C++, Verilog, System Verilog, and scripting. Demonstrated competence with benchmarks and workload analysis.
- Proficiency with CPU performance profiling Excellent knowledge of compiler methodologies and operating systems for speed optimization
- Demonstrated experience creating silicon instruction profiling tools
- Ability to collaborate across departments to maximize silicon performance Silicon validation experience is a plus
- Should be a good team player with excellent communication and presentation abilities, as well as the ability to operate independently on the owned unit.
