My client is a well-known, extremely renowned NFP with a about $60 million budget that is based in NYC. To join their team, they are seeking an excellent Controller. The CFO will be the Controller’s direct supervisor.

They spend four days a week in the office and one day remotely in Midtown West.

Base pay is between $140 and $160k, and there are great benefits.

• 4 weeks of annual vacation
• 12 sick days annually
• Three annual personal days
• Eleven holidays annually
• A 403b and 401A business contribution of 4% to 6% each

Responsibilities:

• Control the General Ledger, prepare financial statements, and close the month.
• Charge a group of six employees
• Consolidations and various legal bodies
• Organize the external auditors and the CFR (Consolidated Fiscal Report)
• Government grants provide 75% of the funding (DHS, DOHMH, OMH, Section 8, Medicaid)
• I’ll work on forecasting and budgeting
• Assist the program teams with financial reporting

Requirements:

• ESSENTIALLY MUST HAVE PREVIOUS WORK EXPERIENCE AT A NFP
• Grants experience is necessary.
• CPA is highly coveted.
• A BA/BS in accounting from a prestigious, recognised university is required.
• MS/MBA degrees are highly desired.
• 10 years or more of experience
• Excellent communication abilities are needed. It’s important to have a positive, vibrant personality and the capacity to cooperate with your other employees. He or she must be able to work well with people inside and outside the organization.
