Responsibilities:

  • Creates new applications and maintains existing ones under the supervision of senior developers for the Corporate Security, Emergency Planning & Response, Environmental, and Safety IT portfolios, among others. This work may also include performance optimization.
  • Performs research on new technology and puts it into practice to improve present operations, security, and performance.
  • Debugs and troubleshoots complex problems; finds and applies fixes
  • Together with a team, develops precise project requirements, specifications, and estimates, and ensures that activities and projects are finished on time and within budget.
  • collaborates with the production operations division to guarantee deployments go off without a hitch and that customer groups get the support they need
  • Validation of design decisions is documented
  • supports the development group’s implementation of new policies and procedures.
  • supports the creation of coding standards and abides by the security and best practices recommended by the development team
  • carries out code reviews
  • As needed, offers on-call production assistance (24/7/365).

Requirements:

Minimum requirements include education and previous work experience.

  • A bachelor’s degree in engineering, technology, information systems (CIS/MIS), computer science, or a closely related technical field, or comparable experience or training
  • 2 years of experience in development overall
  • 1 year of experience using online applications or services

Prior work experience and education are preferred qualifications.

  • 2+ years of experience in development overall
  • 2+ years of experience using web applications
  • Aviation industry knowledge

Knowledge, Permits, and Certifications

  • Basic to advanced understanding of design patterns, best practices, and popular data structures and techniques used in object-oriented programming
  • Python, C#, XML, HTML, JavaScript, CSS, GIT, JQuery, Angular, SOAP/REST, and other web development technologies: basic to intermediate development skills
  • knowledge of GitHUB, Microsoft Team Foundation Server (TFS), and Visual Studio
  • understanding of relational databases (Oracle, SQL Server)
  • the ability to carefully examine applications and services to make sure they comply with security standards
  • networking expertise (TCP/IP, UDP, and sockets)
  • Excellent ability to manage time and set priorities
  • exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Personal dedication to Agile principles and an attitude of continual progress
  • having TDD and automated testing knowledge
  • understanding of OWASP and PCI Compliance standards
  • being familiar with diagnostic software (SOAPUI, Fiddler, IE Inspector, HTTP Analyzer, and Dynatrace)
