TetraScience is now seeking an Accounting Manager that can assist in driving process innovations through accounting technologies and relieve the Controller of a large portion of the day-to-day accounting activities. Developing strategies and methods to handle the complexity of a rapidly expanding software firm where priorities can shift at any time requires analytical aptitude and a data-driven mindset. Along with these qualities, you should have a strong entrepreneurial spirit, love solving problems, and a persistent willingness to go above and beyond expectations. Strong ASC 606 experience is required, and you will be expected to collaborate with members of the sales team and others as needed on a regular basis. Along with helping the Controller with staff development, you will have close interactions with all levels of management, employees, and outside service suppliers.

Among the duties are:

Responsibilities:

• Oversee all daily accounting tasks, including GL, and support the team in resolving any accounting problems.
• Finish month-end close entries, including but not limited to creating financial reports, conducting the Close process in NetSuite, and preparing journals and account reconciliations.
• substantial involvement and accountability with commissions
• When queries are made, establish and implement the procedures required to maintain and enhance accounting processes with the goal of simplifying to maximize accuracy and optimize efficiencies. Assist with the analytical examination of financial statement accounts by investigating actuals.
• As the Controller’s assistant, oversee yearly financial audits
• Create thorough analyses and schedules in accordance with ASC 606 accounting requirements.
• Using Avalara for tax filing and reporting
• ad hoc tasks as needed

Requirements:

• strong grasp of GAAP and at than seven years of relevant experience
• seven plus years of expertise in the SaaS sector and revenue recognition
• Ability to collaborate and communicate with members of the accounting team both across functional boundaries and with effectiveness
• familiarity with the preparation and analysis of financial statements
• Capacity to adjust and feel at ease in a setting where priorities and assignments are constantly shifting
• the capacity to oversee several projects and fulfill deadlines
• a readiness to participate both strategically and tactically
• Proven capacity for professional and effective verbal and written communication Adopt a mindset of constant development and strive to adhere to and enhance procedures
• Compile and submit the necessary tax information.
• BS in accounting and more than seven years of experience in general accounting
• Experience with Accounting for Equity in ASC 606
• strong Google Docs, Google Mail, and Excel abilities
• Experience with Avalara, Salesforce, and NetSuite is preferred.
• It is necessary to have prior expertise with SAAS and tech companies. Applicants without prior SaaS experience won’t be given consideration.
• An advantage is having an MBA or CPA.
